Canadian startup Daymak intends to make its first EV – the Spiritus – the world’s first passenger car capable of mining cryptocurrency when parked or plugged in to a charger. Apparently, it will also keep the owner informed about the money thus earned in real time.
According to Daymak CEO Aldo Baiocchi, the first prototype began mining a number of currencies - Bitcoin, Doge, Ethereum and others – on June 29, 2021. The company set up a live translation showing the mining dynamics and registered a Nebula wallet to accumulate the funds.
As you may know, mining cryptocurrencies consumes large amounts of electric power and therefore indirectly harms the environment with excess CO2 emissions. The Canadian battery tri-wheeler uses solar panels to combat the pollution.
The Spiritus has two front wheels, one rear wheel and two seats. The company claims it will be the world’s fastest-moving tricycle on the planet when shipments start in 2023.
Prices should begin from U.S. $19,995 for a bare-bones spec with 300 km (186 miles) of range. The $149,000 top spec will allegedly have 483 km (300 miles) of range and will be able to sprint 0-60 mph in 1.8 seconds.
