Two cars fuse into a modern Audi Quattro replica worth £350k

UK-based Audacious Automotive and its design director, car restorer and sculptor Mac Zaglewski are working on a modern interpretation of Audi’s famous Quattro coupe. It uses a 2006 Audi RS 4 as a starting point and sources some of the parts from the original car as well.

Per Zaglewski, the choice of the RS 4 as the main donor was easy thanks to how similar the purposes of the two cars are. Like the Quattro, it is a car that’s “very much usable, very much enjoyable and very much analogue,” he said in his recent interview with Autocar. Expanding on the “analogue” part, he revealed that the replica would be available exclusively with a manual transmission. It would also offer an analogue interior and a purely functional bodywork devoid of embellishments like fake air intakes or vents. The example currently being worked on has a body of stainless steel and aluminum, but future projects will also involve carbon fiber.

All power will be sourced from a lightweight and efficient B7-generation RS4 V8. Once supercharged, the 4.2-liter engine should be good for at least 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW). This is arguably plenty of thrust for a coupe weighing in at just 1.4 metric tons (3,086 lbs).

As for the interior design, it will differ from customer to customer. The first example will be rather minimalistic with lots of aluminum trim, but future clients will be able to request something different. Another important thing to note is that the design has yet to be finalized: we won’t be seeing this Quattro replica on the streets until several months later.

Audacious’s Quattro can already be preordered starting from £350,000 (U.S. $470,000). This amount does not include any donor cars or taxes.
