The Audi RS 6 Avant GT is advertised as the fastest RS 6 wagon ever created and is coming to the market in a production run capped at 660 units. Prices in Germany start from €219,335, which currently translates into U.S. $35,650.
The new estate car is closely modeled after the RS 6 GTO Concept, which was designed by a team of students four years ago as an homage to the 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO racecar. Like that car, the new RS 6 GT sports a similar white, black and red exterior, 22-inch wheels shod in Continental Sport Contact 7 tires, reshaped bumpers and a roof spoiler. It’s also the only RS 6 model ever designed without roof rails and with carbon-fiber fenders/hood.
Even in its cheapest version, the special edition features coil-over suspension springs and stiffer stabilizers than its mass-market counterpart. It also rides 10 mm (0.4 in) lower than stock. As far as alternatives go, you can order it with RS Sport Suspension Plus (spring-based) or RS Adaptive Air Suspension (air-cushioned). The rear differential has been tweaked for sharper handling, too.
Like the RS 6 Avant Performance that went on sale in 2022, the new GT relies on a 4.0-liter V8 for propulsion. The engine gets a further boost of 30 hp and 50 Nm of torque for a total of 630 PS (621 hp / 463 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to all four wheels.
The sporty family hauler needs 3.3 seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) and 11.5 seconds to double that speed. It doesn’t hit its speed limit until 305 km/h (189.5 mph). Carbon-ceramic brakes are available at no extra cost.
The interior is black with red and copper accents and houses bucket seats with raspberry-red safety harnesses. A serial number plaque on the center console highlights the exclusive status of the car.
