€129k turns a BMW M2 coupe into an 800-PS track weapon

GP Products has teamed up with Absolute Motors and Urban Automotive to build a unique BMW M2 “GT” (G87) for the last year’s Essen Motor Show. Allegedly, the aftermarket parts alone cost €129,055 – but the result is a car that’s nearly twice as powerful as the original.

Starting with the exterior, you will easily recognize the M2 GT by its Alpha N body kit and British Racing Green livery. It rides on staggered HRE wheels (20” front, 21” rear) and sports a titanium exhaust system by Akrapovic. The brakes and the suspension are likewise non-stock.

The most interesting part – to us, at least – is the engine bay. The S58 inline-six mill there gets massaged to deliver 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) to the wheels instead of its usual 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW). We were unable to find any acceleration numbers, but the M2 should be on par with supercars with this kind of thrust at its disposal.

As a show project, the M2 GT will remain a one-off job inspired by the historical BMW M3 (E36) GT.
