The media have been abuzz with news about the Chiron Profilee lately, a one-off hypercar that never received a full-fledged production run. Now, the story of the Profilee has culminated with it fetching €9,792,500 at an auction.
The winning bidder will have to pay around two million euros in VAT, too. According to Mate Rimac, the CEO of Bugatti-Rimac, this makes the Profilee the most expensive car ever auctioned off in factory-new condition.
The Bugatti Chiron Profilee was the French automaker’s attempt to strike a golden balance between the standard Chiron and the extreme Chiron Pur Sport. Its development began in 2020, and although the engineering team soon realized that it was not viable for mass production, it nevertheless saw this one example to completion.
