Off-road-capable Chevy 3100 truck restomod goes on sale

This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 pickup restored to as-new state and further upgraded for the last year’s SEMA show will cross the auction block in Scottsdale, Arizona in January, poised to fetch six figures.

The builders behind the project had to enlarge the engine bay considerably in order to fit a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 inside along with some adequate cooling. The mill also received a high-flow exhaust system and a custom ECU. We don’t know how much power or torque it makes, but with a Gearstar four-speed automatic and an Atlas transfer case, it should be good enough for off-road applications.

Roadster Shop supplied the chassis for the project. Six-piston brakes and 20-inch custom wheels were also installed, and while the exterior was largely allowed to remain stock with only minor repairs, the bed was redone from scratch with nice maple wood lining.

The interior ended up with leather and artificial suede for upholstery, aftermarket seats, a climate control unit, an aluminum-rimmed steering wheel, and a modern set of pedals.

Having won bronze in the Off-Road Restomod category of the last year’s SEMA show, this nostalgia machine is set to bring its seller a decent amount of money.
