Chevrolet Silverado EV teased with large wheels, Crab Mode

Chevrolet has shared a short vid dedicated to the battery-powered Silverado truck coming up soon. Watch it here to get a glimpse of giant (24-inch!?) wheels and 4WS.

Just like the much-hyped GMC Hummer EV, the pickup truck can turn its rear wheels enough for easy cornering, even at higher accelerations. As for the rims themselves, they appear huge compared to the usual ones. While not official, the proportions shown make us believe they measure 24 inches across – the largest ever installed on a production pickup.

Technical bits are few and far between. All we know on official terms is that the Silverado EV has 400 miles (644 kilometers) of range. The design also remains a mystery, with all the teaser materials enclosed here in our gallery (including those from the official GM event).

Looking at the rivals, the Ford F-150 Lightning has less range at 300 miles (483 km), but packs plenty of power with 571 PS (563 hp / 420 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). It needs around four seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and can power up external devices in emergencies.
