Rumor: Dacia Duster working on a single-cab pickup

Shortly after launching a Duster pickup truck conversion in Romania with a large four-door cab and a short bed, Dacia is now working on a shorter two-door variant.

This unofficial report comes from Autoevolution, which in turn quotes the Dacia Duster Trail & Technical community where insider reports often crop up. Apparently, someone posted a single image of a rebodied Dacia Duster claiming it was a light truck prototype considered for production.

If the report is true, then we should soon see this pickup running its road tests in Europe. The poster insisted that it wasn’t a one-off conversion, but an actual car that Dacia wanted to mass-produce for the EU market. If you look closely, you can also spot the four-door Duster pickup in the background, so we are inclined to believe this rumor.

The small truck seems to have two seats with a tiny luggage area behind them and a fairly large bed – much larger than that of the four-seat variant found in the rest of the gallery above. The poster claims the new bed is 1,650 mm (64.4 inches) long.

According to the report, the single-cab Duster truck should be ready for the market in early 2026. In the meantime, Dacia is already accepting orders for the four-seat variant. Buyers are choosing from two hybrid powertrains rated at 130 and 140 PS (128 and 138 hp; 96 and 103 kW). Prices start from €26,000.
