DeLorean Next Generation dreams about a Corvette-based sports car

The startup company known as DNG Motors (DeLorean Next Generation) has announced its second production car. It is envisioned as a custom version of the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8 with all-new bodywork. These digital renderings are all that exists at the moment, according to Carscoops.

The work is still in its early stages, and the specifics are scarce. Like the company’s titular DeLorean DMC-12 (see video), the newcomer is styled with gull-wing doors and other signature features of the Time Machine. Whether the powertrain is any different from the C8 is an open question.

The sketches shown here were drawn by Ángel Guerra, an independent car designer. DNG Motors never said whether they were faithful to its vision or just an early fantasy. The one thing that it said was that the car was envisioned as a cheaper alternative to the resurrected DMC-12, its first project.

DeLorean Next Generation was founded by John DeLorean’s daughter. It posted some images of a new coupe last year, but never supplied any technical details. The production had been scheduled for early 2023, but never started. The company continues claiming that it employs ‘the greatest minds in the automotive industry’, including people who designed the original DeLorean DMC-12 over four decades ago.
