Exeed LX hybrid gets an update in China

Car manufacturer Exeed has facelifted its LX model in China, adding a new hybrid powertrain to the lineup called the C-DM. According to AutoHome, the new SUV is more energy-efficient, has more range than its predecessor and charges faster.

The new powertrain combines a 1.5-liter petrol turbo with a couple of electric motors and a DHT three-speed transmission. Their output sums up to a solid 326 PS (322 hp / 240 kW) and 545 Nm (402 lb-ft) of torque.

A 19.27-kWh battery pack gives the car up to 80 km (50 miles) of all-electric range. Fire up the main engine, and you get 1,000 km (621 mi) of hybrid range. Charging the battery from 30 to 80 percent full takes 25 minutes.

Curiously enough, Exeed calls these power and range specifications ‘superior’ to the pre-facelift LX DP-I hybrid, but they are actually identical to the old ones. Just how the facelift version is ‘more energy-efficient’ remains without comment.

Elsewhere, the SUV sports different wheels and a more aggressive front end design complete with a reworked bumper, a larger air intake and vertical side inserts.

The standard trim level includes a 24.6-inch infotainment display powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chipset, surround view cameras, a high-power wireless phone charger and a host of driving assists. The prices are pending, but the pre-facelift Exeed LX hybrid started from 152,800 Yuan.
