A number of U.S. media quote three Ford part vendors saying that the next-generation F-150 pickup won’t be arriving until at least mid-2028 due to design challenges.
The company had previously penciled in the launch for 2027. We are now told that it is searching for new ways to optimize the truck’s plug-in hybrid powertrain. Ford hasn’t commented on the leak yet.
Another rumor claims that the Blue Oval is cutting bonuses for a half of its management team. The executives will scrutinize the performance of every department and decide who gets to miss out on their next bonus package (which consists of Ford shares).
In doing so, the company hopes to raise its productivity and get out of the red, we are told. In 2024, Ford stock plummeted by 23%.
