The seventh-gen Ford Mustang lineup will be complemented with a racetrack-focused Dark Horse R model on July 27. In the meantime, here is its first official teaser.
The newcomer is partially based on the Dark Horse S spec targeted towards track day enthusiasts with a potent V8 under the hood and 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW). Like the S spec, the new R has an upgraded exhaust system, adjustable shocks, performance brakes, a rear wing, track-ready hood locks and towing eyes.
Also on the list are Ford Performance Parts wheels, an FIA-homologated safety cage, a bucket seat for the driver, a quick-release steering wheel, track gauges, a fire extinguisher, a battery switch and a larger fuel tank. The body is stiffer than standard thanks to the welding of seams being more extensive throughout.
