Ford has unveiled the facelifted Puma lineup along with announcing an all-electric version coming later this year.
Starting with the exterior, the headlights sport new light signatures and can now be optioned with Matrix LEDs. You can choose from multiple wheel sets ranging from 17 to 19 inches large and go for a new body finish called Cactus Gray.
Inside, the dashboard and the steering wheel are new and the digital dash display is half an inch bigger than before (12.8 inches). The infotainment display, which now doubles as an HVAC control panel, measures 12 inches corner-to-corner (previously 8 inches).
The new SYNC4 infotainment system comes with a built-in Alexa voice assistant and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay by default. Enhanced adaptive cruise control and surround-view cameras are also included as standard features.
The range-topping Puma ST no longer the the 1.5-liter turbo, 6MT, 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW) powertrain option. The best the new Puma can do is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine turbocharged to 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) with a 48V starter-generator assisting with the torque. The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch. As a result, the launched time went up 0.7 seconds to 7.4 seconds compared to the pre-facelift flagship.
The old 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine is likewise no longer on sale. If you are looking for an affordable Ford Puma, you will have to choose between two 1.0-liter petrol options rated at 125 and 155 PS (123 and 153 hp; 92 and 114 kW, respectively). Both support the DCT transmission mentioned above, and the weaker one can be optioned with a manual gearbox. All-wheel-drive remains unavailable.
