Hyptec A800 goes on preorder in China

Hyptec, a Chinese automaker co-founded between GAC and Huawei, has opened its preorder books for an executive saloon known as the A800. Most of the specifications are already known, but the pricing is pending.

On the outside, the car measures 5,130 x 1,966 x 1,500 millimeters large with 3,020 millimeters between the axles. The company boasts that it commands over six meters of LED lighting stripes on the exterior alone. It also cuts a rather sporty profile with an integrated ducktail spoiler at the rear end and a LiDAR on the roof.

In its most basic spec, the Hyptec A800 ships with a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a 15.6-inch infotainment display and a 27-inch projected heads-up display. Huawei supplies the software, while an Infinity audio system plays back sound using its 14 speakers.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter petrol engine generating electricity for an unspecified electric motor system. All we know right now is that the car can do 178 km (110 miles) per charge, WLTC-rated, or 1,200 km (745 miles) if you also fill the gas tank. The top speed doesn’t exceed 180 km/h (112 mph) in either case.
