Chinese automaker GAC has commissioned a factory in Thailand to produce Aion EVs starting with the new Aion V introduced in April, AutoHome reports.
Considering the country’s electric transportation development policies and incentives, GAC may find Thailand an important stepping stone on its way to expanding its global presence.
The company praises the factory as “intelligent”, pointing out extensive use of big data and AI in process management. A flexible “smart” schedule allows it to optimize the production rates in real time based on needs. The industrial complex cost 2.3 billion Thai Baht to build and is rated at 50,000 EVs per year.
