Haval joins China’s large off-road SUV craze with a model of its own

A large six-seat Haval-badged SUV has been spotted on the roads of China, leading AutoHome.cn to speculate that it’s a body-on-frame off-roader running on hybrid power. Unofficially referred to as the Haval C06, it is expected to debut in late 2026.

On the outside, the newcomer looks very much in line with China’s other recent off-roaders. It boasts a rugged and muscular body with flared fenders, boxy headlamps and nearly upright pillars all around. Per the spy photographer, it’s also over five meters (16.4 feet) long, falling firmly into the full-size category. A LiDAR above the windshield and video cameras in the fenders suggest advanced self-driving tech on board.

Then there is the interior, which accommodates a two-spoke steering wheel, a large display in the middle of the dashboard, and three rows of two seats each. Any powertrain details are pure speculation at this point, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Haval’s flagship SUV to get its Hi4-T or Hi4-Z hybrid system. It comprises a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine and two electric motors. In the recently unveiled 2026 Tank 700, the system outputs 524 PS (517 hp / 385 kW) to all four wheels.
