Hyundai Staria EV spotted testing

New spy shots of an undisguised Hyundai Staria minivan have cropped up on the Korean forum clien.net, giving us a first look at the black and grey vehicle.

Note the small hatch next to left headlight: it must be the charging port. Earlier rumors said the electric Staria would have a shorter rear overhang compared to its ICE counterpart, but the images make it hard to draw any conclusions. We also heard that it would ship with a nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery pack rated at 84 kilowatt-hours and 324 km (202 miles) of range, but this also remains to be confirmed by the manufacturer.

In early 2025, a user on the same Korean forum posted photos of a disguised minivan spotted on a parking lot in South Korea. It looked nearly indistinguishable from the normal Staria, but had a solid front fascia with a charging port in it, but no grille. The new images could very well be of the same vehicle.

Hyundai plans to launch the electric Staria in the first half of 2026, offering it in Europe and select Asia-Pacific markets. Once out and about, it will have to compete against the likes of Ford E-Tourneo, Volkswagen ID.Buzz and Zeekr 009.
