In the world of high-performance sports cars, the Lamborghini Huracan STO is known as an unforgiving and temperamental ride worthy of only the best pilots out there with steel nerves. Now, why would anyone want to increase its power output by a factor of three? Search us! Underground Racing did it, anyway.
In case you didn’t remember, the STO normally hits its rear wheels with 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW) and 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) of torque. Once the naturally aspirated V10 gets assistance from dual turbos and an ECU optimized to combust E85 instead of normal gasoline, it begins pushing around 2,000 horsepower to the wheels. In fact, the tuner reports only around 1,673 PS (1,650 hp / 1,230 kW) actually reaching the wheels after transmission losses, but hey, surely that would be enough? It’s more than the Bugatti Chiron has, for crying out loud!
Oh, and if you thought all that power is just for show, allow this video to correct you. Underground Racing made numerous improvements (mostly reinforcements) in the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to ensure that things stay stable during daily driving. That’s right, the monster is street-legal! It is also an AWD car now, because the engineers found it too tricky to handle with just the rear driven wheels. The conversion was carried out using Lambo’s own components, by the way.
Elsewhere, the one-off Huracan STO TT wears Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 at the front, Toyo Proxes R888R broad semi-slicks at the back, and benefits from upgraded brakes.
