Lamborghini’s Urus Performante SE is its strongest, fastest SUV yet

Just like we predicted, the electrified Lamborghini Urus Performante SE hits the wheels with over 800 horsepower and zaps 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, making it the fastest and most powerful mass-produced crossover SUV around.

The powertrain still comprises a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor built into an eight-speed automatic transmission, but their combined output now amounts to 812 PS (801 hp / 597 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. That’s a healthy improvement over the predecessor’s 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft).

Outfitted like this, the new flagship of the Urus family reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds, doubles than acceleration in 10.8 seconds, and doesn’t hit its speed ceiling until 312 km/h (194 mph).

The traction battery capacity stays unchanged at 25.9 kWh, out of which only around 18.9 kWh is reportedly used. This means that all-electric driving is capped at 60 kilometers (37 miles) under the best conditions.

Despite the class-leading performance numbers, Lamborghini has somehow found a way to make the SUV around 32 kilograms (70.5 lbs) lighter. In particular, it now ships with carbon-fiber hood, fender extensions and bumpers. The company reports a 23% increase in downforce compared to the previous Urus SE and a 3% reduction in drag.

The interior features two separate 12.3-inch displays for the dash and the head unit. The center console layout has been redesigned, and the default trim is now based on CorsaTex microfiber. Drivers gain access to a new preset called Rally, which Lambo says is best suited to dirt road and soft ground driving.

All prices are pending. Sales in Europe may begin before the end of the year, while North America will likely have to wait until early 2027.
