A 10-year-old Lexus crops up on sale for $1M

One out of 64 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package supercars ever produced is heading to the block in California. The coupe boasts enhanced aerodynamics, has an extremely powerful non-turbo engine, and shares features with 24 Hours of the Nürburgring racers.

The original LFA model (see video) debuted 11 years ago with BBS magnesium-alloy wheels, a custom exhaust system, sports suspension with a low center of gravity and improved cornering performance, and a full-carbon body kit. The latter included a front splitter, front bumper winglets, and a massive rear wing.

Only 25 cars made it into the United States, and this example was unique thanks to its bespoke interior trimmed with dark Alcantara and carbon fiber. Only three completely black coupes were imported to the USA, the others finished either orange or white.

Power came from a 4.8-liter V10, one of the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated engines at the time of launch with 571 PS (563 hp / 420 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft). A particularly rapid-switching Aisin six-speed semi-auto gearbox sends the power to the wheels, taking the coupe 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and maxing out at 325 km/h (202 mph). As for the gear switching, it takes around 150 milliseconds with this gearbox compared to the standard 200ms.

The car has only around 1,500 km (less than 1,000 miles) on the odometer and should fetch between $900,000 and $1,100,000. The launch price was lower at $445,000.
