Total electrification gradually becomes the priority for many automakers worldwide, and Mini is no exception. The British marque has just revealed a gorgeous all-electric Mini Cooper SE Convertible to prove its intentions – but you will not be able to buy it.
The car is a one-off design study not meant for mass production. Its electric powertrain produces 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 270 Nm (200 lb-ft) of torque, taking it from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.7 seconds. Per the manufacturer, its WLTP-rated driving range lies close to 230 kilometers, or 143 miles.
The topless Cooper SE has the same body dimensions as the existing Cooper S model, also coming with four seats and 160 liters of trunk space. It takes 18 seconds to raise or lower its power-assisted top automatically, and you are limited to 30 km/h (18.6 miles per hour) for the duration.
