Zamyad Z24 pickup gets RHD option for Kenya

Iran-based car manufacturer Zamyad is working on a right-hand-drive variant of its truck named Z24, Charkhan reports publishing the first unofficial photos of the vehicle primarily aimed at the Kenyan market.

Interestingly enough, the carmaker plans to export the truck as a DIY kit for independent assembly. On its domestic market, the model will be wearing a ‘Kifaru’ badge.

The Zamyad Z24 is essentially a copy of the third-generation Nissan Junior. Both saw the daylight in 1970, but the Junior had only been produced until 1982, whereas its Iranian counterpart has remained in production until now.

Powering the truck is a 2.4-liter petrol engine rated at 107 PS (106 hp / 79 kW). As an alternative, customers can specify a 2.8-liter diesel with 93 PS (92 hp / 68 kW) at the output end. Both work with the same manual gearbox.
