Meet the 3rd-gen Peugeot 3008, a fastback-like CUV running on Stellantis tech

Peugeot has officially unveiled the third generation of its 3008 model, which has mutated into a crossover fastback available in ICE and all-electric flavors. The underlying architecture is STLA Medium.

Compared to its predecessor, the new 3008 is 95 mm (3.7 inches) longer, 54 mm (2.1 in) wider and 21 mm (0.8 in) taller. In absolute terms, it is 4,542 mm (177.4 in) long, 1,895 mm (74 in) wide and 1,641 mm (64.1 in) tall. The wheelbase spans 2,739 mm (107 in), and the ground clearance amounts to 198 mm (7.7 in).

At its top trim level, the CUV offers a single curved digital dash cluster combined with the infotainment screen into a single 21-inch display. The gear selector joystick now sits next to the engine start button, and the buyers only get to choose between DCT and auto for transmission.

In its most basic form, the car makes do with a 1.6-liter engine rated at 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW). Paying extra gets you a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo assisted by a starter-generator. The resulting mild hybrid system is rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Opting for a full-fledged plug-in hybrid gives you 195 PS (192 hp / 143 kW) to work with.

The all-electric version of the Peugeot 3008 comes in three variants: 210, 230 and 320 PS (207, 227 and 316 hp; 154, 169 and 235 kW, respectively). Only the last option has all-wheel drive. As for the battery range, it varies from 525 to 700 km (326–435 miles).
