Polestar 3 is now officially recognized by the Guinness Book as the world’s longest-lasting battery SUV EV in production. A completely stock vehicle with 20-inch wheels and Michelin Sport 4 tires has managed to cover 935.44 km (581.26 miles) on a single charge.
The company used a single-motor Long Range spec for the test. It had its standard 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) heading to the wheels and sourced its power from a 111-kWh, 400V lithium-ion battery pack.
In the test drive, the SUV consumed 12.1 kilowatt-hours of energy per 100 kilometers on average and greatly exceeded its WLTP-rated official range of 706 km (438.7 miles). The drive took 22 hours 57 minutes, implying that the average speed hovered around 40 km/h (25 mph). The car had three drivers inside who drove it in three-hour shifts. The weather changed multiple times, and it was raining for a while, Polestar says.
