Sold: Pontiac Fiero doing its best Lamborghini Diablo impression

National Auto Brokers has recently posted a sale ad for a Lamborghini Diablo, whose owner was asking for a humble $29,950. The catch is, it was a well-crafted replica based on a 1987 Pontiac Fiero.

Just like the genuine Diablo (see video), the imitation received a mid-engine layout along with all-new bodywork and rising doors. The roof had to be chopped off completely, and a rear wing was installed at the rear.

The interior has been overhauled, too. The owner replaced the front panel, added analog gauges and built a new transmission tunnel. Other than that, he went as far as to put Lamborghini badges on the seats.

Surprisingly enough, the U.S.-made 5.7-liter V8 under the hood is also new. The listing neglected to specify its output, but said the transmission was manual.

Even though the car was out of order and needed major maintenance when it was put on sale, someone found it appealing enough to pay the requested amount.
