Brabus distills the Porsche 911 into a 900-PS monster form

Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist Brabus has unveiled a new project with the Porsche 911 Turbo S as its center of attention. Dubbed the Rocket R, the car gets a custom body it and an engine modified to produce 900 metric horsepower.

The Bottrop tuner had worked with Porsche production cars before, but the 911 has never been a part of the company’s Rocket lineup – until now. The body kit is made from carbon fiber and comprises a new bumper with an adjustable splitter, vented fenders, a respectable rear diffuser and a large spoiler. The company claims the aero parts fulfill a practical purpose thanks to having been designed in a wind tunnel.

The suspension benefits from special springs and adjustable shocks. The wheels are Brabus Monoblock forged rims installed in 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear.

The 3.8-liter flat-six engine gets a purpose-built turbo setup that drives it to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. Tuned like this, the coupe hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, doubles that acceleration in 7.2 seconds and reaches its max capacity at 340 km/h (211 mph). An Inconel exhaust system with active valves helps keep things cool in the engine bay.
