Have a look at a Porsche 911 (930) Carrera stripped of all spoilers

An unusual 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera is being auctioned off in the USA right now. Its owner ordered it with the optional Turbo Look package, but without front and rear spoilers. The bidding has already reached $130,000 with two days remaining, so it’s getting properly recognized, too.

The German sports car maker offered the Turbo Look package for the 930-generation Carrera 37 years ago. It included widened front and rear fenders, as well as upgraded brakes and suspension borrowed from the actual 911 Turbo lineup. The engine stayed stock, though, and still produced only 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW) in its U.S. version. Since the car was heavier than stock with these cosmetic upgrades, it was slower on the uptake, too.

One of the owners must have disliked that, because they optioned it with a deleted rear spoiler. Removing the extra downforce at just one axle was a no-go, though, as it messed up handling, so the front spoiler had to go as well. In the end, the car that was delivered looked a bit naked by the standards of the time, but also clean and laconic. Rewind to the present day, and you’ll see similar-looking restomods sold for six digits by the likes of Singer Vehicle Design.

The listing points out 114,000 km (71,000 miles) of use.
