Video: Can the underpowered 911 GT3 beat the BMW M4 CSL on the drag strip?

The Porsche 911 GT3 is an extremely capable lightweight sports car, but its paper specs pale in comparison to those of the formidable BMW M4 CSL. Carwow decided to settle the matter for good with a number of quarter-mile races.

But before you watch the video, let us review the numbers. The Porsche 911 GT3 utilizes a naturally aspirated flat-six engine with four liters of displacement to get 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 469 Nm (346 lb-ft) of torque. In turn, the BMW M4 CSL uses a 3.0-liter inline-six assisted by twin turbochargers for 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.

Based on these specs alone, you might think the BMW has a clear-cut advantage. However, there is no ignoring the fact that the track-focused 911 GT3 is around 190 kilograms (400 pounds) lighter than its Bavarian rival. With this in mind, watch the races and tell us your thoughts.
