Porsche recollects seven unique 959s

Porsche has released a few photos showing its classical 959 model customized on request of an Arab sheikh. The bespoke collection was among the first projects carried out by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

The Porsche 959 (see video for an overview) was one of the fastest and most powerful street-legal cars of the late 1980s. Famous German industrial designer Luigi Colani himself took part in designing the model, giving it a 2.8-liter, opposite-cylinder engine with 450 hp (336 kW) at the crank. The sports car proceeded to participate in the Rally Paris-Dakar and set multiple acceleration records.

Still, some customers were not quite satisfied even then. An Arab sheikh contacted the company asking for seven bespoke 959s. Each car boasted its own paintwork and matching cabin trim.
