Despite all pessimistic rumors to the contrary, Porsche has now confirmed that the electric fourth generation of the Cayenne is coming to us later this year.
It is also official now that the new Cayenne EV will be offered side-by-side with its older gas-powered counterpart for the next few years. The company will use its existing assembly lines in Slovakia to produce both generations – the new electric one and the old ICE one. There will be major design differences between the two beyond just the powertrain, so those looking for a more modern driving experience will have to consider the EV.
Porsche has also indirectly confirmed that the new Macan EV will have a gas-powered alternative, even though it wasn’t in the plans last year.
