Mate Rimac shows off his very own Nevera

Croatian automaker Rimac Automobili headed by CEO Mate Rimac was founded in 2008 and had been producing all-electric hypercars for many years, but the business owner didn’t have his own Nevera until now.

Rimac jokes about being “a tough customer” for his own company, saying that he had gone through countless design iterations for his car until ultimately deciding to go with his very first idea. He ordered a Nevera clad in red-tinted carbon fiber with the weave aligned in such a way as to create a single continuous flow of carbon-fiber pattern. He had to cover the additional fabrication and installation expenses associated with it, but refused to say how much it cost.

The side mirrors were adorned with hand-drawn flags of Croatia, and the image of a lightning appeared under the pop-up rear wing at the back. The lightning is a reference to the Nevera thunderstorms common on the Mediterranean coast of Croatia, which inspired the name of the hypercar.

For the interior, Rimac went with an asymmetrical color scheme of red and black with depictions of ancient sculptures all around. These sculptures are kept in the Zagreb Archaeological Museum and belong to national heritage.

Despite the company being a decade and a half old, the Nevera (see video) remains its own production vehicle. It comes equipped with four electric motors joining their efforts for 1,914 PS (1,888 hp / 1,408 kW).
