Spofec – the Rolls-Royce-only subdivision of Novitec – has unveiled its own interpretation of the Phantom luxury sedan.
The exterior changes are few and far between, but in many ways, this is actually advantageous. The designers have managed to refresh the way the Phantom looked without making it look cheap or over-the-top (which is often one and the same thing). As for the wheels, these come from the Vossen shelf in 24” king size and 72 different finishes to choose from (not even counting the usual ‘matte or gloss’ choice). The standard air suspension gets a control module for up to 40 millimeters (1.6 inches) of lowering.
The most interesting part of the upgrade lies hidden under the hood. The 6.75-liter V12 gets a push to 685 hp (511 kW) and 1,010 Nm (745 pound-feet) of torque. The eight-speed auto transmission remains in place.
The heavy luxury-laden saloon now sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in five seconds flat (5.1 s in the LWB version) and hits its speed ceiling at 250 km/h (155 mph), like before.
