Next-gen Skoda Superb presents some specs

The new generation of Skoda’s Superb liftback is only expected to debut in September, but the company already has some technical info to share with us.

The respective length, width and height of the car amount to 4,912 х 1,849 х 1,481 millimeters with a wheelbase spanning 2,841 mm. It translates to 191.9 x 72.2 x 57.9 inches with 111 inches between the axles. The trunk size is 645 liters, or 22.78 cubic feet. For comparison, the estate version of the car has 690 liters, or 24.37 cu. ft.

On the outside, the new Superb looks in line with Skoda’s latest design direction and boasts technologically advanced lighting all around. Inside, the infotainment system display is 12.9 inches large and the transmission selector is mounted at the steering column. DSG is the only transmission left on the list.

The engine lineup will consist of three petrol engines, two turbo diesels and a mild hybrid rated from 150 to 265 PS (148–261 hp; 110–195 kW, respectively). The two range-topping engines – a petrol and a diesel one – will exclusively get all-wheel drive.

The Superb estate will be offered with a hybrid powertrain incorporating a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a single e-motor joining efforts for 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW). A six-speed DSG transmission will deliver the torque to the front wheels. All-electric range will exceed 100 km (62 miles), Skoda claims.

Buyers will get a plethora of driving aids and up to 10 airbags, including one between the front seats. The car will also benefit from improved video quality of its surround-view camera system. The exterior palette will be complemented with six new color options, and the already good trim selection will be further expanded with a track-inspired Sportline and a luxury-laden Laurin&Klement.
