Feast your eyes and ears on this track-focused Suzuki Swift Sport build

With the Suzuki Swift Sport officially out of production, fans of the Japanese brand no longer have a hot hatch to take to the track. That is, unless they can build their own, like Monster Sport has demonstrated.

The Japanese tuning company has essentially replaced the entire car, rebuilding the body using carbon-fiber panels and aero kit parts and moving it onto a custom ladder-frame chassis. The interior was stripped down to just one driver’s seat in the middle, a roll cage, a steering wheel and a small digital dashboard – no soft padding or even just decorative paneling to be seen.

The suspension underwent a full overhaul for what the tuner calls “overwhelming maneuverability.” As for the stock engine, it was thrown out and a new 1.9-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill assumed its place with 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. To take full advantage of the new powertrain, the drive was upgraded from FWD to AWD with torque vectoring.

Sounds pretty cool, huh? If you asked us, we’d say the coolest part is that the result weighs as little as 785 kilograms (1,730 lbs). A normal Suzuki Swift Sport tips the scales at nearly 200 kilos (440 lbs) higher while having roughly one-third of the power.
Just watch the short videos to see how the tiny racing machine fares around the track.
