Tesla Cyberquad goes on sale in China

The Chinese office of Tesla has added Cyberquad, an electric quad bike for children, to the product list. The company had tried selling it in the United States with different specs, but the authorities found it unsafe and banned it.

The Cyberquad has been modeled after an adult ATV concept the company previewed a few years ago. Back then, it was advertised as an option for the Cybertruck pickup.

The kid bike was introduced in the USA in 2021 and was rated 8+ when it went on sale. It could accelerate to a top speed of 16 km/h (10 mph) and ran out of charge after 24 km (15 miles) of use. Tesla had sold 5,000 units priced at $1,900 each until the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) interfered and banned further sales.

The Chinese version of the motorbike is meant for children aged 8-12. It has only 13 km (8 miles) of range and supports two speed modes – 4 and 8 km/h (roughly 2.5 and 5 mph). It costs $1,670 in USD equivalent.
