Toyota bZ3 price drops before sales start

The all-electric Toyota bZ3 sedan will go on sale in China this Sunday, April 16. The company decided to use the remaining time to clarify the specs and details, and also to confirm the pricing. As it turns out, the car will cost $3,000 less than originally promised.

Pre-orders for the bZ3 have been running since early March, with the prices ranging from 189,900 and 219,800 Yuan (roughly $27,600–32,000). The revised pricing is 20,000 Yuan below that.

The trim levels on offer include Elite Pro, Long Range Pro and Long Range Premium. The former uses a motor with 184 PS (181 hp / 136 kW) and a 49.92-kWh battery. Somewhat counterintuitively, the latter two offer 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) and 65.28 kWh. The CLTC-rated driving ranges are 517 and 616 kilometers (321 and 383 miles), respectively.

The Toyota bZ3 was co-designed with BYD (battery supplier) and FAW (assembly line operator). Like the bZ4X, it uses the e-TNGA platform, but with a wheelbase stretched slightly from 2,850 to 2,880 mm. The body dimensions (L/W/H) are given as 4,725 x 1,835 x 1,475 millimeters.
