Toyota continues turning its Crown model name into a whole family of vehicles. Here are the parameters and possible release schedule of the three hybrid cars set to accompany the formerly revealed crossover sedan (see video). There is a hatchback, a classic sedan and a rugged wagon on the list.
The upcoming hatch is called the Sport Type, so we assume it is going to try and deliver on that claim. It is the smallest in the new Crown lineup with 4,710 mm (184 inches) from head to tail. The company expects to ship the mild hybrid version this fall and follow up with a plug-in hybrid in winter.
The sedan is shaping up to be the largest so far with 5,030 mm (196.5 inches) of body length. It could share the powertrain options with the hatchback, and Toyota is considering offering in with a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain as well.
The Estate Type is a wagon-like crossover 4,930 mm (192.6 inches) long. It is set to debut in 2024 after all other Crowns, but with the same assortment of engines as the hatchback. There are no further details, but the images make it look like all the models will get their own, distinct styling cues in addition to just their own body type.
