These images show what used to be a Toyota Fortuner before someone decided it could do with major suspension upgrades and off-road gear.
The drivetrain and the cabin stay largely stock, while the exterior sports a heavy-duty front bumper with a winch, an expedition rack and underbody protection. A snorkel and a suspension lift are provided to let the body-on-frame SUV wade deep water. It is unclear whether the hood air intakes are real or fake, though.
Larger wheels shod in Nitto all-terrain tires widen the track, while the suspension benefits from new springs and shock absorbers. Automatic running boards make getting in and out of the car mode convenient. Inside, front seats with integrated headrests and red leather trim are the only new thing.
It is unknown whether the engine was modified. In all likelihood, the SUV still uses a diesel engine to drive the wheels with 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) through a six-speed auto transmission.
Underpinning the modifications is a Toyota Fortuner GR Sport introduced in Thailand last year (see video). Compared to other Fortuner versions, the GR Sport offers improved suspension, a rugged body kit and new interior décor.
