Toyota’s Hilux truck and Fortuner SUV are both based on the same ladder-frame platform and share the same overall dimensions, meaning you can easily stylize one after another. A tuner in Malaysia did just that, spending around $2,000 on the whole kit.
We are told that the aftermarket parts can be ordered in China, which explains the low price. There are new headlights, a front bumper, a radiator grille, a hood, and a full set of more pronounced, sculpted fenders. Applied together, they turn the front end of the Hilux into that of a Fortuner rather convincingly.
This isn’t the whole kit, either. At the rear end, the improvised Hituner flaunts new LED taillights and has a reshaped rear bumper and tailgate. It helps that the whole truck is finished in the same gloss black finish as the kit, concealing any imperfections of the aftermarket add-ons.
The Hilux seen here is a seventh-generation example produced from 2004 until 2015. It is unknown whether it received any power upgrades or not.
