We all know the shortcomings of tiny turbocharged engines, but there is no denying that the Toyota GR Yaris has both plenty of thrust and reasonably good handling. UK-based tuner Litchfield wanted to take things a bit further and see what it would be capable of.
A new power box persuaded the stock 1.6-liter three-pot to churn out a touch over 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW). To make it steerable, the team lowered the suspension and replaced stock shocks with adjustable Nitron ones. The seats remained stock, but their mounting rails were replaced with different ones to lower ride height by 40 mm (1.6”). Wrapping things up, the team applied a dark green vinyl wrap to the entire body.
In the video review by Carfection, the presenter claims the car did not just become faster in a straight line, but also felt much easier to drive.
