Volkswagen has announced at the CES show in Las Vegas that its future vehicles will support ChatGPT.
The neural network features will be built into the company’s voice assistant software, allowing drivers to interact with it naturally – no pushing buttons, no memorizing specific commands. According to the carmaker, this will make the chatbot easier to deal with for all kinds of users, who will be able to ask abstract questions, make small talk or learn new things. At the same time, the standard voice control system will be preserved for those more conservatively minded.
Over time, ChatGPT will make its way into the infotainment systems of all Volkswagen EVs from ID.3 to ID.7, as well as the next Passat and Tiguan. The facelifted Golf lineup will receive it, too.
