Xiaomi SU7 flagship: just as powerful, half as expensive as the Tesla Model S Plaid

A Weibo user has leaked all technical specifications, trim levels and pricing details of the upcoming all-electric Xiaomi SU7 sedan, reports ArenaEV.com.

If the data is to be trusted, the entry-level trim will start from 219,000 Yuan ($30,000). It will pack a single e-motor on the rear axle with 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). The battery will hold 73.6 kWh of juice, letting the car sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.28 seconds, reach a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph) and cover up to 668 km (415 miles) per charge according to the CLTC standard adopted in China.

This version comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, a 15-channel audio system and an infotainment system running on a single-core Nvidia Orin chip. Air-ride suspension, Brembo brakes, adjustable rear spoiler, LiDAR and HUD are all listed under options.

Next up in line is the SU7 Pro, which costs 259,000 Yuan ($35,800). This one gets a stronger motor pushing the rear wheels with 374 PS (369 hp / 275 kW) and 438 Nm (323 lb-ft) of torque and a bigger 101-kWh battery. It’s the longest-range version with a stated 900 km (559 miles) per charge. It’s also faster on the uptake with a launch time of 4.68 seconds.

Trim-wise, the SU7 Pro rides on the same wheels but makes use of superior Michelin tires instead of Bridgestone ones. It also includes air suspension, Brembo brakes, a LiDAR and 25-speaker audio in the main spec. The infotainment chipset is about twice as powerful, too.

Then there’s the SU7 Max. It starts from 299,000 Yuan ($41,400) and has mostly the same trim as the Pro version. The biggest visual difference comes in the form of 20-inch wheels. On the powertrain side of things, it’s an all-wheel-drive electric car with 673 PS (664 hp / 495 kW) under its command. The range amounts to a solid 800 km (497 miles) – as long as you trust China’s standards, that is.

Crowning the range is the formidable Xiaomi SU7 FE. It slams the axles with a combined 1,074 PS (1,059 hp / 790 kW) and 1,276 Nm (941 lb-ft) of torque. As a result, it hits 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and can reach 300 km/h (186 mph). It makes use of the biggest 101-kWh battery pack, but the range goes down to 700 km (435 miles) due to the increased power consumption.

The SU7 FE rides on 21-inch wheels and makes use of high-end Brembo brakes in the main spec. Perhaps most impressively, it starts from 339,000 Yuan ($46,900). The Tesla Model S peaks at 1,020 PS (1,006 hp / 750 kW) and costs from $89,900 in the United States.
