Appliance maker aspires to compete with Rolls-Royce Cullinan next

Shortly after unveiling its first hypercar looking like a stretched Bugatti Chiron, Chinese electric appliance maker Dreame has followed up with plans for another prestigious EV. By what has to be sheer coincidence, it looks blatantly ripped off the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and is advertised as a vehicle from the same market segment.

Slated for launch in 2027, the still-nameless SUV is poised to compete with the Zeekr 9X on its domestic market. In the meantime, the company has revealed a few technical details to give us an idea of what to expect. Sized at over 5 meters (16.4 ft) long with 3.2 meters (10.5 ft) of wheelbase, the full-size luxury crossover has back-hinged rear doors. It also features a front fascia with narrow rectangular headlight units and an upright radiator grille with chrome bars. The latter looks especially – for the lack of a better word – inspired by the Cullinan.

The company promises us a quad-motor electric powertrain and a 100-kWh battery pack, but all details will have to wait until the design is finalized. The local media speculate that it could end up being a range-extender hybrid with a petrol engine used solely for power generation.

With 3.7 meters (12.14 ft) of efficient interior length, the car will accommodate just two people in the back seat row, who will enjoy having 1.2 meters (3.94 ft) of legroom. The seats will recline by up to 145 degrees for rest and relaxation.

On the technical side of things, we are asked to look forward to an advanced rear-wheel steering system capable of turning the wheels by up to 24 degrees. As a result, the SUV will be able to make a full 180º turn with a 5-meter (16.4-ft) radius, the company claims. For perspective, the Cullinan needs a turn radius of at least 6.6 meters (21.65 ft) to do the same. Adaptive suspension, LiDARs, cameras and millimeter-range radars are also listed as standard.

Dreame plans to include its wannabe Cullinan killer in an all-new luxury vehicle lineup called Starry Automotive. The previously unveiled hypercar with Chiron looks will land in another lineup known as the Dreame Automotive. Both are slated for production in Berlin, Germany, at a new industrial site currently being constructed not far from Tesla’s Gigafactory complex. If you are interested, the company claims it will be bringing both concepts to the CES-2026 show in Las-Vegas in early January.
