Aston Martin V8 formerly owned by the Sultan of Oman goes on sale

A 42-year-old Aston Martin V8 with an interesting background is scheduled to go on sale on Thursday, March 2. Its first owner was none other than the Sultan of Oman.

Dubbed the Oscar India by its original owner, the sporty ride was custom-ordered with hazelnut wood interior trim. It is a Series 4 example with the Vantage pack installed to raise the output of the stock 5.3-liter V8 from 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW) to 375 PS (370 hp / 276 kW).

Tuned like this, the two-door ride could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-97 mph) in 5.2 seconds and maxed out at 270 km/h (180 mph), putting it on par with its contemporary supercars.

Originally finished in Windemere Green with a Magnolia-tinted leather cabin and green stitching, its next owner resprayed the exterior to its current off-white shade. They also replaced the stock five-speed manual gearbox with an automatic one. The car is reportedly still in drivable condition despite having stood motionless for several years as a display piece.
