Aston Martin Vantage gains a GT4 racer version

The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage facelift that the company calls the next generation (see video) is now available in the form of a GT4-compliant racecar. The regulations require it to be as close as possible to its street-legal cousin, and Aston Martin claims it is roughly 80% identical. The body kit, the suspension and the ECUs are the main differences.

Starting on the outside, the Vantage GT4 wears a vented hood made from composite materials, as well as a bulky front splitter and a matching rear wing. Unlike the road-going model, which runs on 21-inch wheels, it makes do with much smaller 18-inch rims.

The rest of the bodywork, as well as the aluminum chassis, the engine and the transmission are stock. A Bosch Motorsport ECU has been tuned by Aston Martin Racing to be compliant with the GT4 standard. The ZF  eight-speed automatic transmission has its two top gears locked in software and is no longer fully automatic, meaning the driver has to use paddle shifters all the time. The suspension is also track-friendly with KW two-way shock absorbers. The interior houses a Bosch DDU11 display, a safety cage and a fire extinguishing system.

According to Adam Carter, the boss of the company’s Endurance Motorsport division, the new Vantage GT4 represents an evolutionary step forward from the old-generation racecar while inheriting all of its key design improvements from the road-legal car. The company plans to put together 40 such vehicles for private clients this year, bringing competition to the likes of the GT4-certified BMW M4, Lotus Emira, and McLaren Artura.
