Check out this JDM-style BMW i8 in shrill pink

The part-electric BMW i8 cost a fortune to design and was still bashed for its appearance, tech and value. The one thing it had going for itself was a vivid and eye-catching appearance. Well, someone out there decided it was not too catchy and sent their car to Liberty Walk for a radical makeover.

The over-the-top tuner shop was happy to oblige, and the result could be one of the world’s craziest-looking i8 models, if not the craziest. Nearly the entire bodywork ended up with bold modifications, the whole body became much wider and lower, and bolt-on fenders appeared on the wheel arches.

Unwilling to stop there and then, the owner ordered the coupe wrapped in a saturated shade of pink and slammed with air-ride suspension. The stock rims went away, too, freeing up room for Forgiato wheels shod in Yokohama Advan rubber.

Since the engine bay was left alone this time around, this i8 probably continues to rely on its 1.5-liter turbocharged three-pot and electric motor to push 375 PS (369 hp / 275 kW) to the wheels.

We have to admit, we had hardly expected to see a car as rare and presentable as the i8 re-cooked in JDM flavor. Did you?
