Meet Evetta Openair, the topless reincarnation of BMW Isetta

German EV maker ElectricBrands has unveiled its own take on the iconic BMW Isetta microcar. The production run will consist of 999 units priced from €33,333, and pre-orders are already running.

The same company is already selling the closed-roof Evetta EV starting from €19,540. The new model called Openair gets rid of the roof and has no historical counterpart – the original Isetta never went topless.

You can get inside the car from side openings, eliminating the need for the model’s signature front door. You can still put tiny half-doors in the openings if you want to, and quickly remove them whenever you don’t need them.

If you need more justification for the price hike, consider that the Evetta Openair has a larger 18-kWh traction battery and covers up to 200 kilometers (124 miles) on a charge. Its closed counterpart makes do with 14 kWh of power storage.

The deliveries are planned for next summer.
