The Motor Sport team on YouTube posted a video showing what the new M4 CSL is capable of with its stock 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.
The coupe is shown accelerating in a straight line using its launch control function. According to telemetry data, it managed to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in the manufacturer-stated 3.7 seconds. It then proceeded to reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.9 seconds, lagging 0.2 seconds behind the official rating.
Since the team only had a kilometer (0.62-mile) long stretch to test on, they could not take the M4 CSL to its promised top speed of 307 km/h (190.8 miles per hour). The car still managed to run the stretch in 20.3 seconds and hit 271 km/h (168.4 mph) at the finish line.
The CSL is a substantial upgrade over the standard M4 coupe, which maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph).
