Chery updates the Tiggo 8 for China

The 2024 Chery Tiggo 8 puts style in front of substance and is already available for ordering on its domestic market.

The latest facelift is called ‘Glory Edition’ and comes in four trim levels with five or seven seats. The biggest change on the outside is less chrome finish: the radiator grille and the headlight bezels are black now. The chrome is still present on front bumper details and the Chery logo, though. In the color palette, light blue is no longer available, but there is a new Yunji Grey option.

The interior stays virtually the same. The 1.5-liter turbo engine still churns out its usual 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque in tandem with either a six-speed manual transmission or a wet-clutch DCT. The top speed is 190 km/h (118 mph) for both versions.

Going for a five-seat, manual Tiggo 8 will set you back 109,900 Yuan. Seven-seaters start from 112,900 Yuan. The base spec includes 18-inch wheels, six airbags, tire pressure sensors, surround view cameras, a rear parking sensor, cruise control, keyless entry, remote engine start, imitation leather on the seats, and a sunroof. The digital dash is 7 inches large, while the head unit has a 10.25-inch diagonal.

The DCT variants start from 119,900 Yuan (5 seats) and 122,900 Yuan (7 seats). Opting for the dual-clutch transmission nets you two extra drive modes called Eco and Sport, a rain sensor, an automatic tailgate and immersive ambient lighting for the cabin. The manual versions lack these options.
