Chevrolet has come to the just-opened SEMA tuning expo with the E-10 Concept, a nature-friendly, battery-powered pickup truck based on the vintage C-10 model.
Back in its time, the Chevrolet C-10 series used to ship with 135-hp (100-kW) and 220-hp (164-kW) gasoline engines under the hood.
The engineer team replaced the standard engine with two electric motors joining their efforts to deliver 450 horsepower (336 kilowatts) to the wheels using a four-speed automatic transmission. Two traction batteries holding 120 kilowatt-hours in total provide the power. The creators claim the restomod needs five seconds to get going at 100 km/h (62 mph) and thirteen to finish a quarter of a mile.
Other notable upgrades include LED-based lighting all around, lowered suspension, a body kit, and multiple speakers imitating the roar of the Chevrolet’s seven-liter LS7 mill.
